CARLSBAD, Calif.—April saw GenMark Diagnostics Inc. release its preliminary financial and operational results for Q1 2020 and an updated full-year 2020 revenue guidance. GenMark reported an expected revenue total for the quarter of approximately $38.7 million, an 80-percent increase over Q1 2019, with $34.3 million expected in revenue from its ePlex sample-to-answer diagnostic system. Also in Q1, the company received an FDA Emergency Use Authorization for its ePlex SARS-CoV-2 test as well as BARDA funding of up to $749,000 to develop an ePlex RPv2 Panel that will include SARS-CoV-2. For the full year, GenMark is forecasting revenue of $112 million to $122 million, updated from its previous guidance of $100 million to $110 million. Additional full-year guidance will be provided in May during the company's quarterly earnings call.
